A friend recently mentioned the date of 9/11/1973 and i did some fast googling and found the links which i decided to post here at This Little Light. One person by the name of Hsing Lee, made a most profound comment, concerning what is usually such a heated issue that neither reason nor humanity survive in the flurry of comments, attacks and rebuttals. Hsing Lee’s response on 2006.12.07 to a NY Times blog forum item
How a war was won and a city vanished at Pearl Harbor
has been cited in numerous blog posts over the years. The Advaith of December 2006 is perhaps the most notable. Ramakrishna also posted Lee’s comment in its entirety, as I choose to do here.

Will the world remember 9/11? Oh, the world will remember 9/11/01, to be certain.

A billion East Indians have not forgotten that Mahatma Gandhi’s Satyagraha movement, a movement of non-violent resistance, was born on 9/11/1906.

A billion Muslims have not forgotten that the European colonization of the Middle East – the British Mandate of Palestine, the first move toward the state of Israel eventually being forced on the Palestinian people, began on 9/11/1922… it’s why the Islamists chose this date, 79 years later, to attack the Twin Towers.*

The people of Chile will never forget the CIA sponsored coup of 9/11/1973, perpetrated by Augusto Pinochet to overthrew the government of Salvador Allende, who was democratically elected by the Chilean people but disliked by the Republican Party.

The question should not be, “will we remember 9/11?”

The question SHOULD be, “can we learn the lesson of how 9/11/1922 applies to 9/11/2001, and then apply those lessons to George W Bush’s actions in Iraq and Afghanistan before it’s too late?”

An occupying army will always give rise to resistance. That resistance led to Jewish Terrorism against the British, then Terrorism by both Muslims and Jews against each other, and finally to Muslim Terrorism against America on that fateful day in 2001.

Like begets like. Hate begets hate. Chickens ALWAYS come home to roost.

And right now, George W Bush is making thousands more Osama Bin Ladens, and thousands more potential 9/11’s through his actions in Afghranistan and Iraq.

Like WILL beget like, unless we choose NOT to remember 9/11 as a day of violence, conquest, terrorism and displacement, and instead choose to remember it as the day a great man, a young lawyer from India, chose to take on the British Empire, and win, armed only with the heart of a Nation, and the truth.

Many of you will choose to use this day in history as justification for more violence, more hate, and more vengeance. An eye for an eye, you’ll call it. Perhaps you SHOULD heed the wisdom of the Mahatma… an eye for an eye will make the whole world blind.

Or are you already too blind to see?

Thank you Mr. Hsing Lee. You are blessed with vision.

For a good essay concerning the history of Israel and Zionism, you may wish to read
Dr Gideon Polya’s essay: America, Zionism, Israel, and the 1968-2008 Orwellian Transformation. Dr Gideon Polya: Body Count. Dr Gideon Polya: Paintings.

* All the links in this post, including those that link to Hsing Lee’s comments, have been inserted by myself. I am not certain about the date of 1922 and have yet to confirm exactly the event to which Lee is referring when he mentions 9/11/1922. The only event i have found has been posted as a misinformation post by pro-israeli agents. Of course, Lee’s comment about the islamic terrorists having chosen this date as well, seems to be largely an opinion of Lee’s. One to which i am not unwaveringly aligned.

IRIB correspondent Ebrahimi reported on Thurday (May 22nd)

The Islamic Republic of Iran Foreign Ministry has summoned Swiss Charges D’Affaires to Tehran, in the absence of Swiss Ambassador, as the protector of US interests, voicing Tehran’s strong protest to activities of a terrorist anti-Iran group in the US. Throughout this summons, part of documents related to activities of the said terrorist network, which was involved in the explosion in a Husseiniyeh in the south Iranian city of Shiraz, were handed over to Swiss Charges D’Affaires for delivery to related US officials.

Following the discovery and dissolution of a terrorist network in Iran, new aspects of terrorist operations backed up by foreign elements, were revealed. The Islamic Republic of Iran Intelligence Ministry, based on the documents found from operatives, has disclosed the role played by the US, Britain and Zionist regime in organization of a series of terrorist operations in Iran. When one hears the word settlement, does one think of 30,000 people? Or when one hears the words negotiating table, do you have an image of people trying their utmost to appear respectful between uneasy stares across a long conference table? Such mixed notions of trust and mistrust in a world desperately crying out for an end to suffering and a nurturing of peace is unfortunately still part of the global landscape and the general rule rather than the exception. When all manner of cunning is thrown to the four winds, and plain offensiveness is placed in its stead, one wonders what all the photo shoots are really about if not to try and stem the growing paucity of images of mistrust already in the psyche of the global public.

More money will soon be approved for spending on housing in an illegal occupation of a disputed area in Jerusalem. All the while, a peace fire continues to evade residents in the disputed areas.

This is according to a report in the New York Times published this Christmas Eve and written by Isabel Kershner entitled Israeli Housing Plan Casts Pall Over Peace Talks. It is easy to dismiss the legitimacy of Palestinians as long as they are continually already branded with labels like fundamentalist or terrorist, but to those of us seeing the overall picture in an historical context, the picture is plain. What is offensive is of course the innocent blood being shed in the name of peace on both sides of the so called divide. What leads to continuation of this affront on humanity is that the legitimacy of a Jewish state is assumed in the minds of Americans because of the way these issues are presented to them. Any group that even half insinuates that Israeli terror should be halted is branded as being on the lunatic fringe. At the same time, the birthright of the millions of displaced refugees of Palestine is held as a reward in the sky, because of the self-defensive actions or the resistance to the offensive and terroristic actions of the decision makers in Tel Aviv. These defensive actions are presented as terrorism, while the real terror is presented as a defense. In so doing, the intensity of the violent nature of the state of Israel is not appreciated by the viewers who are presented with false images, thousands of miles across the Atlantic. The dehumanisation of the checkpoints and the wall that defines the limits of the concentration camp that is the occupation remains invisible and concealed. As concealed as the rest of the lies in this so called war on terror. The excesses of the state of terror are explained as a justified excess to the terror driven by mad men bent on removing all democratic freedom on the face of the globe. The orange clothed victims of torture, as stark an image as that is to us on the outside, remains hidden because of the fear instilled in the American psyche. The obvious lie of the sky scrapers being demolished in plain view, are the same lies that drove two wars, and so on, and so on.

Let us not forget that the American public continues to fund Israeli rule. Israel, one of the wealthiest nations in the world, enjoys more financial aid (mainly from the USA) than any other state in the world. According to one estimate, Israel has the same number of citizens as San Francisco, but receives more aid than all of Sub-Saharan Africa. Why? Because they are victims of a holocaust and they face a threat from terrorism. Why do they face this threat? Read on.

Israeli officials said a Housing and Construction Ministry budget proposal for 2008 included plans to build 500 apartments in Har Homa, a Jewish development in a hotly disputed part of East Jerusalem, and a further 240 apartments in Maale Adumim, the largest Jewish settlement in the Israeli-occupied West Bank with a population of more than 30,000.

o come all ye faithful

A few months ago, the Network of Christian Organizations in Bethlehem (NCOB) organized an

event near the Apartheid Wall in Bethlehem, and invited local, international, grass roots, official and civil organizations and groups to participate.

The event took place next to Sumud Centre/ House of Peace, in an area trapped between the Wall and the Bethlehem-Jerusalem Military Checkpoint. Around one hundred attendees came from the various organizations, including the mayor of Bethlehem and EAPPI team, as well as representatives of the Bil’in Popular Committee.

The attendees marched by the Wall in a candle vigil, expressing their rejection to this separation and land annexation.

The ceremony concluded with a joint Ramadan breakfast, shared by Palestinian Muslim, Christian and international representatives. [source]

These details and images were extracted from the Joint Advocacy Initiative (JAI) website [about JAI]

Reading this article and others (IMEMC) dealing with present day Bethlehem, one wonders how any wise men from the east would have made it into Bethlehem if the star of hope had appeared today instead of 2000 years ago. It also leads me to conclude that we need wise men (from all directions) today, more than ever before.

These Carols express the joy that humanity is filled with because God’s love has become known to all of us through His prophets. In this way, God is always with us, by His gracious mercy. His love and truth are available to ALL regardless of where you are born or what those in error label you as (i.e. the false labels of Jew or gentile, black or white). Praise God for truth. May humanity turn away from error and be set free by the truth.

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear

My description for the rapid turning around, and afterward, tail-wagging, we all witnessed in 1993 is: cowardice. The great sage at wikipedia filled me in to the origins of this word. It’s French!

Well, excusie mua (putrid Francaise) for hacking the wiki legal definition into bits for your (in)digestion. According to the wiki link, the US Military’s crux of the idea of [the crime of] cowardice is: (more…)

What lies at the root of the world’s problems? The Holy Bible says, many things can be traced to the love of money? I consider arrogance and intellectual sloth as follies that always occur alongside the foolish obsession with money. After all, what other forces but vanity, and arrogance can lead to a wasteful worship of things so temporary as those that exist in this world? (more…)
